The Flexible Packaging Association’s 60th Annual Meeting was a success by all measures with Reifenhäuser-Kiefel being one of the major sponsors. With the number of FPA member attendees the highest in over a decade and content that provided significant take-home value, the membership was fully engaged.
After a rough 2009 for the packaging industry, the Flexible Packaging Association predicts that its segment will rebound along with the US economy and perhaps at an even faster clip with Reifenhäuser-Kiefel poised to provide the technology required for this growth.
During the group's state of the industry report the FPA predicted overall revenue in flexible packaging to be up about 3.5 percent to $26.6 billion in 2010, based on estimates of a 3.1 percent growth of U.S. Gross Domestic Product.
According to the FPA, flexible packaging has recorded a compounded annual growth rate of 3.1 percent annually over the last decade, and has become the second largest segment of the U.S. packaging industry, with an 18 percent market share behind corrugated, which continues to lead with 22 percent of the market.
The Flexible Packaging Association has served as the voice of the flexible packaging industry since 1950 and Reifenhäuser-Kiefel is proud to be a member. FPA members are manufacturers of flexible packaging sold to users or distributors for packaging purposes, and material or equipment suppliers to the industry.
